it IS illegal to run a red on a bike,
$250-$350 depending on what city.
NYC is the $350, and I know someone who got ticketed.
So lobby your police to enforce the ticketing,
I’ll lobby for enforcing the harrassement/buzzing
of cyclists, which is an aggressive driving citation,
a little heavier penalty than the red light ticket.
Do that twice and you’ll be riding a bike to work,
and not by choice.
